Looky Looky!!

Once again, the Goodwill was good to me. I came across this vintage, antique, fold out top, sewing machine table with the sewing machine still in it. However, I gave the sewing machine away, in the check out line, to the lady behind, me who was a quilter and collected them. Her eyes lit up and her hubby was beside himself with excitement. I now know why after looking it up on Ebay. (Oh man, I’m not gonna even go there, it doesn’t matter and it’s gone.) The table is in great condition, solid wood, and was obviously well cared for. I love the detail, especially the little pulls. Anyway, I’m very excited about this table b/c I saw one of my fellow bloggers redo an antique sewing machine table and hers looked amazing. Now I just have to remember who it was so I can go see what she did. LOL! I’m not sure what direction I’m going to go with this one. Should I keep it wood, paint it, age it, not sure?? I’ll update once I complete the project. I’m almost nervous to even publish this post for fear a year from now I won’t have decided how I’m going to clean it up. HA! LOL!

Where’s the heck was the Antique Roadshow folks when you needed them?
Thrifting isn’t as fun unless your sharing anyway.

The sewing machine cabinet is beautiful! I found one a year or so ago at a thrift store and brought it home. It needs some work but I couldn’t decide to paint or not either so it still sits in my dining room (but I covered the top with a table runner). I’d love to see what you do with yours…I need some inspiration!

Thanks Jane! I’ve Been trying to sand it down b/c it had a chipped layer of varnish on the top. After that, I think I may try to stain it a dark mahogany color. OR, I could do the usual black, OR I may end up white-LOL! I can’t decide either. LOL!
