WOW!!! I’m SO THRILLED!

DSC_0061

You know how I’ve been trying to come up with a thrifting serving idea; a way in which I could use my passion for thrifting to serve a larger community of people, rather than only my family and myself? Then, I had that thought of thrifting up bud vases, (if you’ve been to any thrift store you know bud vases are always plentiful, especially at Salvation Army or Goodwill stores). Well, today, I finally worked up the courage to call a nursing home and speak with the activity director about this idea. I was so nervous, but I did it; I got the Ok to bring in the vases of flowers. I’m so excited; I can hardly contain myself! So, starting tonight, when I go volunteer at our church thrift store (it’s a non-profit store that funds the rebuilding of area public schools), I’m going to buy every bud vase we have. I’m shooting for 50 bud vases. I’m also going to get my kids and hubby involved when it comes to actually constructing the vases and flowers. That way we can use the opportunity to teach our 3-year-old about serving and what not. I’ll keep you guys posted as this projects unfolds. It feels so amazing that I was finally courageous enough to call.
